That’s what it feels like…
living in our newly built home. We love it, but are so used to being in a TINY TRAILER. It’s taking some getting used to, especially for the boys. They’ve never ran or wrestled or jumped or played so much! It can wear a momma out I tell ya!
Did I mention I’m loving it? Well, I am.
Josh cut the walnut trees down himself and had the wood milled for that awesome ceiling, which he installed himself. Not to mention, he built the mantle. We have another one of those for sale if you know someone who’s interested. It’s walnut he distressed and stained himself. He and a buddy also did all the tile and back splash in the kitchen. Amen for an awesome husband that can do ANYTHING!
The stainless island was my idea, believe it or not. I have to give all credit to Ree (Pioneer Woman). She inspired me and it was cheap!
By the way, NOTHING has been decorated. There are piles of stuff everywhere, which is why you aren’t seeing bedroom shots just yet. Also, we’re in the market for a BIG harvest/farmhouse table that seats around 8-10. That puny little round thing is SO OUTTA HERE! Obviously, there are no curtains. We did get some wood blinds up in the bedrooms, but it’s really hard choosing fabric for curtains. I need major decorating/design help. I’d be willing to trade out a session or two! Just sayin’…
I’ve got lots of furniture shopping to do and TONS of art to buy. Although, most of the art will be from my photography. Up to this point, I haven’t had anywhere to hang photos. That has all changed! YAY! Craigslist has become my new best friend. Even Josh is addicted to it!
Okay, that’s it for now. I promise to post a detailed update VERY soon. If you have questions about where I bought something or how we did something, feel free to comment. I’ll answer any question you send my way. I don’t mind sharing prices with you, either, since we did a lot of it ourselves. We were very frugal and kept really close to our budget.
